5/04/08 - Kirby Derby

Even though we had terrible issues with comms, we did manage to provide some useful information during the event and are even seen smiling afterwards! KC9JWU, KC9BAC, KB9DMI, K9CFH, KB9VSI, KA9SZW, N9PLZ.Not in the picture are N0PRN and N9GIJ.

5/04/08 - Prairie Fire Games Special Event

It was cold and windy for W9XH and AA9UF during the Boy Scout special event. Boy Scout tropps moved through the ham radio shelters all day to hear a presentation on ham radio and then make attempts to work another station. Several contacts were logged and many certificates handed out to the scouts. At least one scout was interested enough to come back later to make another contact.

4/30/08 - Kirby Derby Pizza Party

Good turnout for the party with W9XH, K9CFH, KB9DMI, KA9SZW, KC9BAC, N0PRN, and N9GIJ. We had food and then received final instructions for Saturday's event. 288 runners are already registered!

4/23/08 - Chamber of Commerce Expo

This was our table at the annual Chamber of Commerce Expo. We had PSK31 running on an Icom 706 with the Field Day 20m antenna strung out on the balcony. We saw nothing but DX stations until later in the day when Florida started rolling in!

A lot of folks stopped by if only to grab the colorful notebooks and pens we had out.

We noticed that our banner may need to be replaced some day to reflect the new web site and be a bit more event generic.
