Radio Field Day 2007 in Piatt County, Illinois
The map! Shaded areas we worked, white areas we
didn't.

Once again we got teased by a station in Hawaii. Couldn't work him
before he signed off.
We worked 26 other EOC stations. We worked 40 states, 2 Canadian
provinces and 3 foreign countries.
Here is the grid, minus the one station we worked on 2m:
Band CW DIG PH
80 16
12 13
40 9
22 107
20 14
36 79
Total 39 70
200 + multipliers for power less than 150W = 836 points + 1050 bonus
points {!} = 1886

Not too bad considering we had to stop for about an
hour during prime time because of lightning. Both stations were
active for the entire time. We knocked off a bit early on Sunday as
storms started to roll through again. The greatest contact density
occurred between 6pm and 12am.
The 20 participants:
KA9VHQ, KB9VSI, KB9LCD, KC9BAC, KC9JWU, KA9SZW, AA9UF, KB9ZDR,
K9CFH, KC9DEK,
KC9DEL, WB9TVD, N0PRN, KB9WEW, KB9DMI, W9FWS, N9GIJ, KA9NNH, KC9JRY,
AB4XY
KB9DMI earned the nickname "The Closer" during her time at
the mic. She called and they answered.

We also had at least 9 visitors including the Mayor
of Monticello.
We had 5 "youth" contacts this year. All were made on
digital modes of some kind. Might be easier do get them to do by
computer than to overcome mic fright....

In the "Above and Beyond" department:
KB9VSI and KC9BAC for setting up and operating the cookout - nobody
went hungry!
AA9UF for bringing in radio, antennas, laptop, etc, etc.
KC9DEK for making a County Market run in the pouring rain.
K9CFH for bringing in his gas grill and a laptop for logging.
KB9DMI for bringing in additional treats
Special thanks to Chuck KC9WEW for making it possible to hold the
event at the EOC and providing the excellent support we get all year
long.
